The Witchfinder General - The Director's Cut

This is huge news. Coming in September is the Director's Cut of Micheal Reeves' The Witchfinder General. Legend has it, when Reeves screened the film for the British censors, six minutes were removed from the film due to violent content. Could this version return that lost footage.

Whether it does or not the footage still exists remains to b seen. In its current form this 1968 Vincent Price classic remains one of the most powerfully disturbing horror films ever made - a brutal indictment of poltical abuses and corruption in a lawless land.

The experience I felt when I first saw the film was overwhelming. The raw power and energu of the film is nothing short of remarkable. I am looking forward to this DVD.

More on this when the film is released.
